The Interreg V-A Greece-Italy Programme, in cooperation with Pino Pascali Foundation, celebrated the European Cooperation day thought a creativity feast in the Municipality Garden of Polignano a Mare, on 29 of September 2018.
More than 100 people, among children, families and citizens painted together a mural, by transforming a grey wall in an urban art intervention. A set of intertwined figures that share the same space, even if they come from different places. It is a twine that aims to highlight the sharing of a project and the joy of being together: this is the meaning of the mural that well represents the story of cooperation between Greece and Italy.
The participants have coloured and collected a puzzle that represents an embrace of colors, shapes and figures that go beyond the territorial borders toward new forms of friendship and collaboration. The puzzle will embellish a nursery school in Polignano, recently open.
Painting together means experimenting the world of cooperation: everyone’s contribution need to be mixed with the others and it becomes precious to achieve a common goal in the general harmony of colors.
Cooperating means sharing a joint development project, and Puglia and Greece have been collaborating for over 30 years, in order to improve the life of the citizens that live in this territory.
Among the participants: Martha Cambas from the European Commission (DG Regio); Dominic Zaralidou Legal Advisor at the Special Secretary- Greek Ministry of Economy and Development; Angelliki Bouziani, Managing Authority of the Programme; Bernardo Notarangelo, Head of Coordination of International Policies of Puglia Region, Katia Sagona, Head of the Unit B2 of Managing Authotity; Giuseppe Rubino, Head of the Territorial Cooperation Section – Puglia Region; Rosalba Branà, head of Pino Pascali Foundation; Doriana Stoppa, welfare council member of Municipality of Polignano, the members of the Monitoring Committee and the Programme Joint Secretariat staff.
