CIAK, public call to select 15 screenwriters: deadline 8 April 2019

The Ionian University published the call to select 15 scriptwriters who will take part in the itinerant screenwriting workshop called Greece – Puglia Experience: of the 15 selected screenwriters, at least 5 will be from Puglia Region, 5 from the involved Greek regions (Ionian Islands, Epirus and Western Greece), and 5 from other countries. The initiative is part of the activities of the project CIAK “Common Initiatives to AcKnowledge and valorize tourism potential of the programme area through cinema”, funded by the Interreg Programme V-A Greece-Italy 2014/2020.

The Screenwriting Workshop will last three weeks scheduled in different periods: the first two weeks between May and June 2019, the third between September and October 2019. The workshop will take place in three different locations: Corfu, Region of Epirus and Bari. Each week starts with a workshop in stable position (4 days) and finishes in itinerant mode with a 3-day tour visiting the most beautiful and interesting locations. Participation is totally free of charge and all expenses related to travel, accommodation and food are covered by CIAK.

The Greece-Puglia Experience activity aims to promote the natural and cultural heritage of the regions involved with the aim of bringing together the areas of Western Greece (Ionian Islands, Epirus and Western Greece), and Puglia Region, improving their attractiveness through film scripts.

The aim of the workshop is to create, for each screenwriter, a script related to the areas of interest: the Apulian territory and / or the territory of one or more Greek regions mentioned above. The 15 scripts created by the participants could form the base for future films.

Interested participants can download the call (available in English) and submit their application through the digital platform at this link: https://ciak.avarts.ionio.gr/participants/.

The deadline for application is 8 April 2019 (available until 22.59 Italian time, 23.59 Greek time).
