With the motto ‘Sharing borders, growing closer’, the EU celebrates on 21 September European Cooperation Day. For the 2017 edition, Interreg V-A Greece-Italy Programme organizes a public event, to discover the natural heritage of the programme area, improved by the programme funds of the previous programming period.
A cycling tour to enjoy the rhythm of nature among the centennial olive trees in the Valle d’Itria along the Regional Park Dune Costiere (Ostuni) on 24 september and along the breathtaking landscape of the Koronissia Lake in Arta (Region of Epirus) on 14 october.
The Italian tour includes 4 stopovers: from the ancient Dolmen of Montalbano, through the paths with dry stone walls until Fontevecchia Station. Break time in Masseria Fontenuova with traditional local products and finally all the people, attending the initiative, will plant the cooperation tree.
European Cooperation Day is coordinated by the Interact Programme and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and by the national funds of Greece and Italy.
