The Municipal & Regional Theatre of Patras in Greece organized at Theatre Barry an interesting meeting with the title “Stories of the city on stage: the adventure of a performance“.
The open meeting was implemented with regard to the preparation of the performance Patras, The city of industries, Rebetiko music and Karagkiozis shadow theater which is going to be presented in Patras, Corfu and Italy in the framework of the project NeTT funded by the European Cooperation Programme Interreg Greece-Italy 2014-2020.
The meeting opened with a presentation by the artistic director of the Municipal & Regional Theatre of Patras Stavros S. Tsakiris with the title: Di.PE.THE. Patras confronted by the history of the city. Then, Gianna Roilou, professor of the Department of Theatrical Studies of the University of Patras gave a lecture on Documentary Theatre.
The lectures were followed by the round table The city as a source of creation coordinated by Stavros Tsakiris. The writers Vasilis Ladas and Kostas Logaras, and the shadow theatre player Kostas Makris talked about their own experience and then discussed with the public.
At the venue there was a book exhibition on the history of the city.
