The kick-off meeting of TeleICCE Project – “Promotion of Teleworking and Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Training for Increased Cluster Competitiveness and Employment”, financed for 878.000,00 euro by the Interreg V-A Greece-Italy Programme 2014 – 2020, was held in Patras on 19‐20 July 2018, at the Hellenic Open University Campus.
The lead beneficiary is the Hellenic Open University, in cooperation with the Chamber of Achaia, the Ionian University, the Istituto Formazione Operatori Aziendali Bari (I.F.O.A.) and the National Confederation of Crafts and Small and Medium Enterprises – Provincial Association of Brindisi. Associated partner the Hellenic Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs.
The project promotes the adoption of innovative business-to-freelancer models facilitated by teleworking platforms and a skills building framework that uses the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) platforms, that will enhance the competitiveness of SMEs and the employment of professionals.
The ongoing impact of the digital single market not only provides opportunities, but also presents challenges in terms of the job dynamics and changes in business and working conditions. Especially the cross border area is characterized by a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a variety of economic activities. In particular, SMEs represent the 60% of regional economic sectors both in Greece and in Italy and they suffer the recession and the low growth level and the limited access to access to credit.
The project will develop cross border clusters with innovative support services to foster competitiveness but also by creating strengthened linkages among businesses, vocational training providers, universities and policy making actors.
