The Kick-off meeting of the project InnoNets “Innovative Networks for the agrifood sector”, co-funded for 900.000,00 € by the Interreg V-A Greece-Italy Programme 2014-2020, was held on 27 of November in Corfu.
The Region of Ionian Islands is the lead beneficiary of this project in cooperation with three Italian partners, the Puglia Region-Department of Economic Development Education, Training and Employment, the Polytechnic of Bari, Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture (DICAR) and the Lega Cooperation e Mutue della Puglia (Legacoop Puglia), and one Greek partner the Chamber of Corfu. Associated Partners are Greek Italian Chamber of Commerce of Thessaloniki and the University of Basilicata.
InnoNets project, financed under Priority Axis 1 – Innovation and Competitiveness, will develop a cross border innovation Brokering Centre to provide innovation support services to micro and small agrifood enterprises. The project methodology incorporates 3 cross border Thematic Living Labs, a cross border Living Lab to control them and a powerful Electronic Innovation Node- Agrifood Toolbox, a platform for the delivery of innovation support services to the agri-food sector.
Thanks to this project, Puglia and Western Greece will tackle the common challenge to promote creative entrepreneurship as a key contributor to the competitiveness across the economic and social sectors.
